Community Involvement |
|
|
Community |
|
At Waterloo CRC we strive to be a positive influence within
our community in Waterloo. Many of our programs are open to
everyone and we have regular events during the year to
encourage church members to get to know those in our
community. |
| Spring and Fall Clothing Exchange |
|
Each spring and fall a clothing exchange is held on a
Saturday at the church. Clothing can be purchased by the bag
($1 for a small bag, $2 for a large bag) or a bag of
clothing can be exchanged for a bag of similar size. This
exchange program is open to the general public and
volunteers are always appreciated. Donations for the
exchange are received on the day of the sale or they can be
dropped off at the church earlier. See the Calendar (click here)
for the date of the next clothing exchange. |

Sunnydale Community Centre |
|
The Sunnydale Community Centre is located in close proximity
to Waterloo CRC. The centre is staffed by volunteers and
employees sponsored by the House of Friendship. The church
supports Sunnydale Community Centre through various
volunteer opportunities at the Centre and financial support
for its food distribution program, summer camp programs, and
other programs as needed. |
|
Fellowship Events |
|
Throughout the year, events are planned to include our local
community. These include the summer church picnic, games
night, and skating. See the Calendar for time and date.

| University Students |
Within very close proximity to the University of Waterloo
and Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo CRC is blessed with
students who attend worship services and participate
regularly in the life of our church. Graham Morbey is a
Christian Reformed chaplain who works at both universities
during the week. He can be reached at
for
more information about the on campus and off campus events.
Once a month student lunches are held for students,
visitors, and new members of our church.

| Food Drives |
| Three times per year, food drives are held for collection of
non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Waterloo
Region. Drives occur near Easter, Thanksgiving, and
Christmas. Waterloo CRC also sends a team of food sorters
and drivers to pack and deliver Christmas hampers, a program
sponsored by the House of Friendship. |
