University students

Intentionally located near Wilfrid Laurier University and adjacent to the University of Waterloo, Waterloo CRC especially welcomes university students to our fellowship. Whether you are looking for a place to worship, a place to serve, a place to develop relationships, or a place to call your spiritual home during your university years, we are committed to partnering with you on your faith journey. Classis Huron of the Christian Reformed Church sponsors Rev. Brian Bork, the CRC chaplain who serves both university campuses. See Brian's web page for more information.

In addition to giving you a place to hang out and meet fellow students, we have a monthly Student Lunch: On the first Sunday of most months, we host an informal lunch after our morning worship service for all college and university students. There's no cost, no pressure, no agenda—just an opportunity to eat home-cooked food, meet other students, and get to know some of our church members.

Other children's programs

  • Church Education: Beginning in October and continuing through May, children and young adults from Grade 4 through Grade 8 meet for class Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15. Classes meet in designated rooms in the church. Look for the sign on the door for the Grade you need.
  • Children's Sunday School: Throughout the year, young children from age 3 through Grade 3 meet for their classes during the worship service. Directly before the sermon—about 25 minutes into the service—the children leave the sanctuary, gather for a short singing time, and go with their teacher to their respective classes.
  • High School Youth Group: During the fall, winter, and spring, students in grades 9 to 12 meet together every Sunday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 for a variety of activities including Bible study, prayer, games, and discussion.
  • Junior High Youth Group: Youth in grades 7 & 8 gather once a month for a fun activity like bowling, ice skating, or swimming. Our purpose is to nurture relationships among ourselves and to develop skills where we begin to make a difference in our community. We coordinate a fall food bank drive, and collect pop tabs for wheelchairs. Activities are hosted and run by the youth along with their parents.
  • GEMS Program for Girls: GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour) is a club for girls who are in Grades 2-8. GEMS meets on Thursday evenings from 7 - 8:30 PM from September to the end of April.
