Denominational Ministries
  • Cadets ( calvinistcadets.gospelcom.net) - The goal of the Cadets is to help boys to grow spiritually in all areas of life (devotional, mental, physical, and social) by providing Christian men with a uniquely designed structure, program, and materials so that they can mentor boys effectively.
  • Christian Reformed Home Missions ( www.crhm.org) – serves the church by coordinating and promoting and providing all kinds of resources for spreading the good news.
  • Christian Reformed World Missions ( www.crcna.org/pages/crwm.cfm) exists to glorify God by leading the Christian Reformed Church to respond obediently to our Lord’s commission to witness to the good news of God’s Kingdom and make disciples of all nations.
  • Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC) ( www.crwrc.org) – is a relief, development, and educational ministry of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. ( www.crcna.org). CRWRC partners with local agencies that understand local needs. Together CRWRC and its partners find ways to provide lasting change for people in more than 30 countries around the world.
  • Committee on Disability Concerns ( www.crcna.org/pages/disability.cfm) – The paid and volunteer staff of Disability Concerns helps churches to include all of God’s people in their life and ministry so that all members know that they belong and can use their gifts fully.
  • Friendship Ministries ( www.friendship.org) – Friendship Ministries is dedicated to sharing God’s love with individuals who are intellectually disabled.
  • GEMS ( gemsgc.gospelcom.net) - GEMS Girls' Clubs is a relationship building, club program created especially for girls! GEMS Clubs are offered in local churches and other Christian organizations all across the US and Canada
  • Seafarer’s Ministry ( www.ministrytoseafarers.org) – Ministry to Seafarer’s provides for the spiritual, emotional, physical, and justice needs of seafarers.

  • Food Bank of Waterloo Region ( www.thefoodbank.ca) – the F/W Food Bank obtains and distributes approximately 3 million pounds of emergency food each year.
  • House of Friendship ( www.houseoffriendship.org) – serves low-income adults, youth, and children in need of support and promotes opportunities for personal growth, wholeseom relationships, and community development through the application of holistic Christian principles.
  • Huron Campus Ministries ( watserv1.uwaterloo.ca/~gmorbey/church.html) – A ministry of the Christian Reformed Church serving the academic communities of WLU and UW. Programs include worship, services, prayers, pastoral care, leadership development, teaching biblical truth, and communities of shared Christian living.
  • KidsAbility ( www.kidsability.ca) – This Centre for Child Development aims to help children and young adults with developmental, physical, and communication disabilities through teams of therapists, teachers, doctors and volunteers.
  • KW Crisis Pregnancy Centre.( www.pregnancycentre.ca/aboutus.htm) - The KW Crisis Pregnancy Centre provides meaningful alternatives to abortion for women with unplanned pregnancies.
  • Mary’s Place ( www.standrewskw.com/OR/marysplace/marysplace.html) - Mary's Place is a haven of safety and refuge for homeless women, youth and children who are in transition or need emergency shelter.
  • Out of the Cold ( home.golden.net/~msavage/ootc/ootcindex.html) – A program which strives to respond, in a meaningful way to the needs of the most abandoned of our city’s poor and homeless people.
  • St. John’s Soup Kitchen ( www.theworkingcentre.org/sjk/sjk_main.html) – Located in downtown Kitchener, St. John’s provides a hot, nutritious meal each weekday in a place where patrons find work, a meeting place, refuge from isolation, and a link to other services.
  • The Working Centre (K-W) ( www.theworkingcentre.org) – A non-profit, community-based, volunteer-inspired venture that seeks to give individuals and groups access to tools and opportunities to become involved in the building of community projects in K-W and surrounding areas.

  • Family Outreach ( www.vaxxine.com/family/) - The organization supports research relating to substance abuse, conducts conferences and seminars on substance abuse, and ministers to those afflicted and affected by substance abuse.
  • Gleaners Community Food Bank ( www.gcfb.org/site/PageServer) – Gleaners provides surplus donated and low cost food and related personal care products to people in need in southeastern Michigan.
  • Lighthouse ( www.lighthousecentre.ca) - A CRC agency that facilitates refugee immigration and settlement. The Lighthouse is also a multi-ethnic community center, providing much needed support, friendship, programs, and resources
National Agencies
  • Canadian Foodgrains Bank ( www.foodgrainsbank.ca) – A Canadian-based Christian organization that helps provide food and development assistance to people in need.
  • Citizens for Public Justice ( www.cpj.ca/index.html) – CPJ is a national organization of citizens which promotes justice in Canadian public affairs.
  • Habitat for Humanity Canada ( www.habitat.ca) – A national, non-profit, faith-based organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
  • Operation Manna ( www.diaconalministries.com/communityministry/om.htm) – A program to provide funding and consultation in support of local community ministries.
Church Government
  • Classis Huron ( www.classishuron.ca) – The body of all Christian Reformed churches are grouped geographically into groups called classis. This is the level of government above the Waterloo Christian Reformed Church. Representatives from each member church meet with their classis throughout the year to discuss regional issues and other issues of collective interest.
  • Christian Reformed Church ( www.crcna.org) – The CRC is a denomination of about 275,000 members in more than 1,000 congregations across the United States and Canada. We confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
